setting the mood.
Seniors stand for their well earned applause.
As students shuffled through the rainy morning to the pews of St. Andrew's Church, Opening Day had come. Friends yelled to friends, to the sound of Jazz and the buzz of our joyous reunion. Rules were presented, classes were introduced and received with resounding ap- plause. Garrett Bonem humored us with his stand-up about the dif- ferences between freshman and seniors. We enthusiastically ran through the rain to our forums, where we met the newest members, and reunited with old. The sun began to shine, as we gathered on the front lawn to picnic and reminisce. The time had come to begin our wondrous wayfaring.

"Will you walk a little faster?" said a whiting to a snail,
"There's a porpoise close behind us, and he's treading on my tail. See how eagerly the lobsters and the turtles all advance!
They are waiting on the shingle—will you come and join the dance?
Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, will you join the dance? Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, won't you join the dance?
"You can really have no notion how delightful it will be
When they take us up and throw us, with the lobsters, out to sea!" But the snail replied, "Too far, too far!" and gave a look askance- Said he thanked the whiting kindly, but he would not join the dance.
Would not, could not, would not, could not, would not join the dance. Would not, could not, would not, could not, could not join the dance.
"What matters it how far we go?" his scaly friend replied. "There is another shore, you know, upon the other side.
The further off from England the nearer is to France-
Then turn not pale, beloved snail, but come and join the dance.
Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, won't you join the dance? Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, won't you join the dance ?"

n the Queen's Croquet Grounds an odd group was gathered to show the world how well their school could 3nd. The bonds that the students had created during the past year were broken, however, for the span of i hour when they engaged in a tug-o-war tournament won by Ed Kulka's Forum. Ties were reformed during
the other zany games that did not pit forum against forum, but the smell of competition still lingered in the air.

D uring the summer Community High students trekked everywhere from their own basements to Africa. They saw amazing things and came back withincrediblestoriestoshare. Despite their divergent destinations they all en joyed themselves immensely and came back to school with a slightly different
perspective than when they left.

Sydney Talcott and Zach Mesberg take a whirl on the merry-go-round at Commstock.
For many students Commstock heralds the beginning of summer.
Josh Hegarty is "TonkaTough" in Botswana. Many students attend exchange programs to countries such as Botswana, Australia and Japan. These expose them to different cultures and values, not to mention really big machinery.

ALL TIMIOS
A lot of the time, things aren't quite as they seem. Even in our own school there are little secrets that we would never even know about unless we saw them with our very own eyes. From rooftops to base ments to boiler rooms, there is always something new to discover if you just go search ing for it. Life is a quest, and one should look deeper into the meaning of all that sur rounds us; not only within random rooms in random places, but also within friends. There is so much knowledge to gain if you just stop for a second and let it in. If you allow yourself to look beyond the surface of what you see, and see it in a differ ent light. From a whole new entirely different point of view that takes you through the looking glass.

The world was a small place for all of the events of 2003 to occur As the new year began, the possibility of chemical warfare was in the air and as the year continued, it became a reality. The United States deployed its forces in Iraq to begin the search for dictator Saddam Hussein. Hussein was charged with possession of chemical weaponry, which was strictly against an agreement made by the US and Iraq. Saddam fled, and the country was racked by turmoil as US soldiers did their best to keep order and apply themselves to the task at hand. On Sunday, December 14 the seemingly endless and pointless ghost hunt ended. Soldiers from the Raider Brigade of the Army's 4th Infantry Division got a tip that Saddam was in a town 15 miles from his home town, Tikrit, in an eight foot deep spider hole, buried alive and being moved every 2 hours. He was burdened with possessions of his former rule, two AK-47s, a pistol, $750,000 in $100 bills. The infantry men looked at each other and said "Merry Christmas".
Basket ball star Kobe Bryant was involved in a sexual assault charge when a girl invited him to her room to "cuddle". But things went apparently too far. Bryant claimed that the girl took it farther, but the girl claimed assault, and took things to court. Kobe asked for forgiveness, and his wife supported him the whole way.
As of 2004 Osama Bin Laden was still at large. U.S. military operations in Afganistan continued, albeit unsucessfully. With luck he will soonbe apprehended.
Michael Jackson was accused of child molestation and recording and participating in child pornography. A warrent was issued for his arrest. He denied the charges, although he did state that it was the most beautiful thing in the world to share a bed with a child. Unless he can pull off another "Thriller", his career may be about to "Just Beat It".

The Lord of the Rings trilogy ended with The Return of the King. Many theaters had all-day screenings of the entire trilogy, culminating with a showing of the third movie at mid night. It was the climax to a story that had taken three years to tell. The final installment of Peter Jackson's fantasy epic has grossed $326.8 million to date.
Disney's Pirates of the Carib- bean: the Curse of the Black Pearl was the first ever Disney movie with a PG-13 rating. This rollicking ad venture starred Jonny Depp, Kiera Knightly and Orlando Bloom. Contrary to expec tation, it garnered positive reveiws from both critics and the public and was the suprise hit of the summer.

The Community Ensemble Theatre takes pride in staging three shows a year. This year's fall production was "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum", a musical comedy. Selling out nearly every night, the play was a huge hit. It is many people's opinion that it was Community's best play in years. The spring production will be Shakespere's "Tweltfh Night." This will be followed by an AIDS benefit of student written one-acts.
