Disc Jockey Will Operate Own Firms Ollie McLaughlin of 809 Catherine St., disc jockey, announcer and salesman for radio sta. tion WHRV for the past 71/2 years, has resigned his position effective Oct. 7 to organize and operate two new businesses. OCT 29 100 They are Artists Personal Management and O'Mac Music Publishing Co. McLaughlin said he will be the personal manager of popular singer Del Shannon of Battle Creek, who has been designated by Billboard and Cash Box magazines as the nation's |No. 1 recording star. McLaughlin now is agent for Max Crook of Ann Arbor, who wrote the popular song, "Runaway." Crook is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Clarence E. Crook cf 2112 Wallingford Rd. All his clients' recordings will be published by the O'Mac firm, McLaughlin said. He plans to set up offices both in Ann Arbor and New York.
