Died suddenly Monday, April 29, 1985 in Beyer Memorial Hospital. He was born May 9, 1939 in Otsego, MI, the son of Roy O. and Mary A. (Daniels) Standish. He came to Ypsilanti at age two and graduated from Ypsilanti High School. He served eight years in the Michigan National Guard and was employed as a mechanic-crew chief for American Airlines 1962-1979 and T and G Heavy Truck Repair retiring in May of 1982. He was an avid motorcyclist and C. B.'er. He married Lilah Ellen Ferguson September 23, 1962 in Ypsilanti and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Roy A. and Timothy C. and one daughter, Kelly, all at home; one brother, Homer (Pearl) Koyl of Ypsilanti. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Oliver Koyl and one sister, Katherine Fowler. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Moore Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jay T. White of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Saline officiating. Burial will follow in Dixboro Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the Roy M. Standish Memorial Fund at Moore Memorial Chapel where friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.
