Bits & Pieces of Ypsilanti History from the Fletcher-White Archives of the Ypsilanti Historical Society From an 1890 panorama view looking north-east: Congress Street is now Michigan Avenue and that's Riverside Park in the upper left corner, so this is basically the site of today's still-waiting-to-be-developed Water Street project. The four-story building on the east bank of the Huron River (#45) was the mill owned by John Gilbert at one time.
