5 stars submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on July 14, 2014, 9:50am Highly recommended by Patrick Rothfuss (the genius who wrote _The Name of the Wind_). He said that it is fairly often that a book can make him care, and not terribly hard for a book to make him laugh, but that it is a rare book that can make him fear for a character, but that this one did. I'd also add that, set in Africa, it was a nice change of pace from the western/westernized world so often found in books.

I paid for the hardcover so I could take it on vacation (and I almost *never* buy hardcover!), and it was money well spent.

Satisfying revenge story submitted by Princess Cimorene on July 21, 2020, 2:09am This is definitely a badass book. Who doesn't love a good revenge story? The setting and band of characters are amazing, but there are a lot of heavy topics, so be warned that it's not a light read.
