classic story submitted by wendylv on July 18, 2014, 6:12am This book is an easy one to check off your list of Great-Classics-You-Should-Read. It's a good introduction to Hemingway, as well. Highly recommended.

A quick read submitted by brooksza on August 17, 2023, 1:11pm I understand now why this is a classic. I read this straight through and really enjoyed the story. There are interesting narrative flourishes even in the short length.
Important Reading submitted by rstipe on June 18, 2024, 7:19pm The brevity of the story allows the reader to fully immerse themself into the mind of a man who has nothing but his mind to occupy him. Those of you that travel alone or go days without it speaking to someone will relate to this book heavily.
Great submitted by HoppingNomad on August 4, 2024, 6:17pm Hemingway is brilliant in his ability to write dep and poignant novels in very simple language.
