adorable + hilarious submitted by flora on October 15, 2010, 6:43pm Clementine is just too much. This girl is creative to a fault, but it only makes her more enjoyable. Embittered about being named after a fruit, she decides that her baby brother should be named after a vegetable ("because the only thing worse than a fruit name, is a vegetable name"), so he is known as Asparagus, Brussels Sprout, Lima Bean, Rutabaga, etc. She gets into trouble at school for not paying attention, when in fact she pays more attention than most people--just not to the things that she's supposed to be focusing on. In this book, Clementine tries to help her friend Margaret when Margaret gives herself a bad haircut, even though Clementine is a little bit angry about how Margaret behaved at her birthday party. Many girls will be able to relate to Clementines worries and frustrations as she deals with this and other issues at home and school. Through it all, Clementine will keep you laughing! Recommended for grades 1-4.
P.S. The audiobook is great, too.

Awesome Book submitted by cjlandefeld on July 14, 2017, 9:08am This book is awesome! There is a touch of friendship in the book. Clementine has a very bad week. This book is very funny.

Great for all submitted by Sarahcaps on June 20, 2018, 11:19pm Our family of two adults and two boys (8 and 11) all enjoyed this book. We listened to the audio book for a road trip and we were all attached to the characters and sad when it was over.

Relatable early chapter book for kids submitted by shankart on June 17, 2021, 5:50pm Clementine makes mistakes (like all kids) and gets into fights with her friends (like all kids). She has the same appeal as Junie B. Jones, but with more consequences for her actions. My kids loved listening to this as a read aloud.

A lovely read aloud! submitted by ninawhite on June 14, 2023, 3:09pm We've been reading the clementine books for a long time. We love them all! Clementine herself if such an awesome character, full of quirks and warmth.

A modern day Ramona submitted by cdeucher on August 27, 2023, 9:00pm If you loved Ramona as a kid, then you will love Clementine. She is awesome and quirky and endearing.
