It's the extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he singlehandedly evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers.
Blu-ray, 1080p high definition, Dolby Atmos, region A; requires Blu-ray player.

Incredible True Story submitted by pamhockey25 on June 20, 2017, 5:31pm Desmond T. Doss (Andrew Garfield) became the first Conscientious Objector in American history to be awarded the Medal of Honor even though he refused to kill or even carry a rifle while serving as a medic during the Battle of Okinawa in World War II. Doss' phenomenal story of courage saw him single-handley save the lives of over 75 of his comrades while under constant enemy fire.

The way the film was shot make you feel like you are there, the horror of war is real. The incredible feat of saving these men is brought home in a way that can only be done in a movie, because I could never imagine the chaos if I just read about it.

Too good, and true submitted by pmysore on August 29, 2017, 9:00am Although classified as an action movie, it is a true story of a army medic who saved 75 lives in one day while not carrying a weapon.

Captivating and inspiring true story submitted by toridchen on June 21, 2019, 7:11pm Both the story and film quality were amazing. Definitely worth watching!
