Fun! submitted by Sara W on July 31, 2012, 9:31am This movie has it all - fun, excitement, suspense, drama, heartbreak and humor. The story the establishment of a women's baseball league during World War II is a great premise, introducing an amazing cast of characters and plenty of awesome baseball montages. Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell provide the comic relief - with a little help from Marla. Sibling rivalry between Geena Davis and Lori Petty ramps up the drama and the suspense. There are many classic moments - "There's no crying in baseball" might be the most famous. If you don't cry when the War Office sends Betty Spaghetti a telegram, then you have no human emotion.

It's a great movie.

Women playing baseball, not softball, during world war two submitted by tbbrown76 on July 17, 2020, 8:30pm Tom Hanks is a washed up player who,gets a chance to recruit and manage a team of women ball players in the 40s. Great sister dynamic and Hanks is at his finest with the catch phrase: "There's no crying in baseball."
