"When Sabrina disappears, an airman in the U.S. Air Force is drawn into a web of suppositions, wild theories, and outright lies. Sabrina depicts a modern world devoid of personal interaction and responsibility, where relationships are stripped of intimacy through glowing computer screens. An indictment of our modern state, Drnaso contemplates the dangers of a fake news climate."-- Provided by publisher.

Wow submitted by dntanzer on August 28, 2019, 11:32pm I don't even know what to say about this book. It's so weird and interesting but also scary and kind of stressful. It's the type of book that I recommend reading without looking at the summary or book jacket. Though heads up for some graphic violence and hints at mental illness.

Alienation and Conspiracy Theorists submitted by sVfGI7Glt2pz7GZgVB90 on July 10, 2020, 7:29am Drnaso's graphic novel portrays a young man whose girlfriend is murdered and he takes refuge with an old friend.

A braided report of personal loss is executed in flat affect and drawn in flat. Its gentle, restrained, and downcast tones dig out the reader's emotional experience.

Apparently the first ever graphic novel nominated for a Man Booker!

Depressing and scary. A very relevant and disturbing look at aspects of the current time and place.
