A World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy named Jojo whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother is hiding a young Jewish girl in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler, Jojo must confront his blind nationalism.

Wasn't expecting to like it... submitted by sushai on July 25, 2020, 10:23pm but it wore through my hard shell and drew me in. I always appreciate satire but it's often very dark. This one, though sometimes dark, still is overall heartwarming.

Sam Rockwell was a gem in this movie submitted by yufamily on August 17, 2020, 7:22pm There's a lot of laughter and humanity in this movie. Sam's character shows that regardless of politics, we are share the value of precious innocent lives.

Good but not as mind blowing as people say submitted by Will O on August 25, 2020, 7:49pm I was expecting this to be both funnier and sadder based on what I heard but it fell a little in the middle for me. There were a few moments of genuine laughter and also a few scenes of incredible sadness but I wish it had leaned a little harder on both. It's tricky I know but it fell just a bit flat for me.
Scarlett Johansson once again gave a great performance and Sam Rockwell is a national treasure who somehow makes you love his gay nazi heart.
All the younger actors were good too.
All in all worth a watch but not quite out there enough for me.
Bonus points for a brown Jewish man playing hitler.
