Another great PBS presentation submitted by yufamily on July 12, 2020, 1:52pm Didn't know this was Jane Austen's unfinished novel. Nice overall!

It's OK submitted by majean on July 19, 2020, 7:20pm Having already read "Sanditon" as finished by "Another Lady" (available at AADL), it was interesting to see where this version chose to go with the characters. For some reason, the show's creator chose to only follow the novel for the first half of the first episode when it easily could have comprised the first third to half of the series. (Jane Austen wrote 11 chapters.) As many have said before me, this is basically a Jane Austen fanfic, and it is not like one of her novels at all. And Charlotte needs to put up her darn hair. She is a woman; she is not twelve.

Ok submitted by DL on August 26, 2020, 1:52pm A lot is going on in this small fishing village wanting to be a spa town and not a lot that brings out the best in people.

Loved!!! submitted by tkuz5 on June 22, 2021, 8:28pm Really great series.from JA's brief beginning. Modern version addressing other issues such as race.

Loved it submitted by sara on August 1, 2021, 8:18pm So glad I could borrow this from the library as I missed the beginning.

One of my favorites submitted by madisen_stewart on August 11, 2021, 3:50pm I loved what this show did with these characters. So interesting, but still very Austen.

Captivating submitted by kkjammers on March 6, 2022, 4:36pm (Contains spoilers)
This Masterpiece rendition of "Sanditon" is a luscious panorama of colorful characters, deeply felt emotions and spectacular scenery. Davies' version of Austen's unfinished novel features many of her classic themes, though its finale left me bitterly disappointed. Sidney Parker's and Charlotte Heywood's abundant love for each other is clear in this story. Davies is outstanding at his craft and understands Austen' style thoroughly, though the ending turned everything on its head. I understand that he had no obligation to mimic Austen and regretted, upon first seeing this season when it was released, that no second season had been arranged. I hope the second season brings full circle more of the painful resolutions introduced in the first.

love submitted by zaraz on June 9, 2023, 10:29am a wonderful Austen adaptation! gorgeous and fun.

Awful submitted by valentina on February 18, 2024, 8:34am Very vulgar movie with all the necessary woke stuff to get the prizes. Jane Austen is turning in her grave.
