Grandmothers sharing cooking submitted by bec on June 28, 2022, 8:34am This cookbook combines interviews with grandmothers in each of the eight African countries bordering the Indian Ocean with their favorite recipes. Something about knowing why each woman has chosen a recipe to share, and when and how she likes to make it, makes for really (emotionally) warm reading and cooking. It's wonderful, and the food is so delicious.

Gorgeous collection. submitted by po_emfan on July 8, 2022, 6:40pm Accessible ingredients and gorgeous recipes - I loved the contexts, research, and narratives that accompany each woman and her kitchen. Beautifully done.
