The Queen of the Club submitted by Meginator on June 30, 2023, 11:09pm It makes sense that Madonna would do something slightly different and fairly self-indulgent to celebrate her fifty(!) chart-topping club/dance singles, and this album of remixes is an effective blend of a traditional greatest hits album and a tribute album that fits her career very well. The tracks are incredibly solid with some variety to them despite the fact that they are all more or less aiming at a similar vibe, and they cover a huge range of trends and innovations in pop music over the course of four decades. I wouldn’t recommend this as an introductory album (her other greatest hits collections are much better for that), but anyone who enjoys Madonna’s music should like this, especially if you’re primarily familiar with the traditional singles rather than the dance versions.
