COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Series Favorite submitted by thartj on June 21, 2018, 8:44am This book is effectively a prequel. Not written as a prequel... the journey begins. But about 90% of the book is Roland telling his ka tet his back story, the story of Susan, who has appeared in echos from the beginning. The woman Roland loved. And I have to say this is my very favorite of these books so far. King says it took him 26 years to write because he didn't know how to write a love story. But this love story is so seeped in sadness and horror that it was in exactly the right hands. A story with multiple villains and unlikely heroes. I do have to warn you to keep a hanky handy. But it was fantastic. Not a bumbug at all.
Awesome- Favorite submitted by TLW1998 on July 26, 2019, 9:31pm The love story between Roland and Susan is amazing... the sadness of it. This is one of the best books ever.
