COMMUNITY REVIEWS

great submitted by manz on July 7, 2019, 4:21pm An excellent little series! Stephen King's writing does it again.

Okay Adaptation submitted by Meginator on June 12, 2020, 10:53am Stephen King’s take on the Kennedy assassination is an obvious choice for a film adaptation, and though the miniseries isn’t nearly as good as the (exceptional) book, it is a slick production that tells the story well enough. James Franco gives an utterly indifferent performance as the lead character, and the directors fail to consistently capture the sense of menace that hangs over the book, but the story is nicely paced, immersive (the sets and costumes feel straight out of the early 1960s), and difficult to turn off once you get started. The book is definitely better, and might be a roughly equal time commitment, but the series is perfectly adequate as a standalone story.
