Miss Lottie Wallace
City Clerk of Saline Dies After Long Illness
SALINE - Miss Lottie Wallace, 79, village and city clerk of Saline for 20 years, until her retirement three years ago, died last night at the Parrett Nursing Home in Tecumseh after a long illness. She had been living there for the past six months.
Miss Wallace, a lifelong resident of Saline, had clerked at various times in several Saline stores. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Women's Society for Christian Service. She was born July 11, 1870, in Saline, a daughter of Major Darius and Mary Ann Smith Wallace, pioneers in this neighborhood.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Four sisters and one brother died previously.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed. Friends may call at the Lockwood Funeral Home.
