NEW POLICE RADIO AERIAL IN OPERATION: Rising 50 feet above the top of the city hall annex, the police department's new radio tower, bearing the station letters W8XJQ in bright orange on the east side, has more than doubled the station's broadcasting and receiving range by raising the aerial above the zone of interference from buildings and power lines. The station's messages have been received by the Detroit police department and tests have shown that the two-way radio communication, between headquarters and scout cars, can be maintained clearly for all parts of Ann Arbor and for five miles outside the city limits.
