YPSILANTI - Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon for John Bice, 80 years old, native of England but a resident of Ypsilanti for many years. He died Monday night at the home of his son, Lewis Bice, Detroit. Services will be conducted by Rev. R. T. Appleyard, of this city, at the J. E. Moore funeral home here, and burial will be in Highland cemetery, this city.
Mr. Bice was born May 4, 1859, in Mevigissie, England, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Bice, and spent his boyhood there. He married Miss Louisa J. Tregunna, in Dublin, Ireland, and the couple came to Ypsilanti for a wedding trip to visit relatives here. They liked the place so well that they remained as residents here, where Mrs. Bice died years ago.
Later, Mr. Bice married Mrs. Cathrine Hardman, in Hull, Eng., and the couple lived for a time in Newark, Eng., returning to the United States.
Surviving are the widow, now in Hull, Eng.; the son in Detroit, and one granddaughter. Leonard Hardman, Ann Arbor, is a nephew.
