Long Illness Fatal To Ann Arbor Widow
Mrs. Harriett J. Ransom, 88, widow of Edward A. Ransom, died this morning at her home at 1333 Pontiac St. after a long illness.
She was born Sept. 3, 1868, in Concord, O., the daughter of George W. and Carrie Underwood. She came to Ann Arbor in 1880 and had lived here since that time.
On July 4, 1886 she married Edward A. Ransom in Ann Arbor. He died Feb. 21, 1928.
Survivors include two daughters, Miss Ella M. Ransom and Miss Eva M. Ransom, both of Ann Arbor; five sons, George W., Walter R., Ralph E. and Russell D., all of Ann Arbor, and Benjamin H. of Jackson; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Muehlig Chapel with the Rev. Ralph L. Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
