KEY QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

Will $15.5 million be enough to build all ■ * the facilities listed?

Q.  Will $15.5 million be enough to build all the facilities listed?

A.  The Board cannot guarantee this because it cannot control bidding variables. But the Board is pledged to do all possible to keep within the building budgets. Having the funds to plan ahead is an important factor in this.

Q.  Will the Board be asking voters for additional operating millage this spring?

A.  Yes. The school tax was reduced by one mill in 1967, when state legislation freed a $2.7 million reserve fund for current use. With this now gone, additional millage will be needed to make up for it and to meet any increases in operating costs.

Q.  Will further bond proposals be presented soon?

A.  Probably not until 1972, when some $7 million may be sought for the sixth junior high and the second stage of the third high school.

Q.  Who may vote?

A.  By state law, only property owners and their spouses may vote in a bond referendum.

Q.  Where will the polling places be?

A.  Just as in past elections: At Jones, Burns Park, Angell, Eberwhite, Haisley, Wines, and Stone schools. They will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. Absentee ballots will be available from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the schools’ Administration Building, 1220 Wells Street.

Q. Is further information available?

A.  Certainly. A 15-page document which attempts to answer all questions is available at the Administration Building. And you are invited to call the School Board office at 665-7711 or any of the members listed on the opposite page.
