Kummer, Elizabeth Bollman 500 S. Capital, Lansing (former longtime resident of Ann Arbor)- Age 54, died suddenly Monday, October 23, 1978, at her home in Lansing. She was born Jan. 18, 1924 in Rochester, Minn., the daughter of Jesse L. and Mildred Montgomery Bollman. Mrs. Kummer was active in numerous civic organizations, state and local. She was a Legislative Vice President of the League of Women Voters of Michigan and a chairman of the Education Committee; former Vice President of the League of Women Voters of Ann Arbor; former President of the Ann Arbor AAUW and served on numerous state and local committees. She was active in Parent-Teacher Organizations in Midland and Ann Arbor and was former secretary of the Ann Arbor PTA Legislative Council and was active in many education committees. Mrs. Kummer was a former member of the Ann Arbor Continuing Adult Education Committee; Millage and Bonding Support Committee; current member of Education Legislative Advisory Council since 1964. She was appointed by the State Board of Education and served on national committees for support of public schools from 1963 to 1972. She was one of Michigan's Commissioners to Education Commission of the States. She was a former Girl Scout troop leader and had served on the University of Michigan Sesquicentennial Committee. Mrs. Kummer was a public member of the Board of Directors of the Delta Dental Plan. She was a member of the Delta Gamma Social Sorority and a member of the Ann Arbor Citizen's Council. Survivors include: four children, Frederick T. Kummer of Hackensack, New Jersey, Marian E. Kummer of Ann Arbor, David T. Kummer of Houston, Texas, and Joseph T. Kummer of Ann Arbor; her mother and father, Dr. Jesse and Mildred Bollman of Rochester, Minn.; and her sister, Jean Ruleson of Shingle Springs, Calif. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, at St. Andrew Episcopal Church with Rev. Gordon M. Jones officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mayo Foundation for Cardio Vascular Education and Research, Rochester, Minnesota. -Muehlig Chapel
