Thomas Jefferson and Sue Florence Morrison Everett, he was married to Amanda Ellwood Cowen on Aug. 26, 1915, in Chicago, Ill. She preceded him in death in June of 1954. Prof. Everett attended the New Bedford, Mass., High School from 1896 to 1900, the Trinity College at Hartford, Conn., from 1900 to 1901, and came to the University of Michigan in 1911, completing his requirements for his bachelor degree in 1914, receiving his master’s in 1915 and his PhD in 1921. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Fraternity. Before coming to the University of Michigan, he was an artist and cartoonist for the Ram’s Horn for the Home Herald and for the Providence Journal. In his 39 years as a member of the faculty of the U of M, he instructed several generations of students to their real and lasting profit.
