Those who inend to forward petitiorcs for the alteration of our Constitution 80 as to 6trike the word 'wiiite" from it, should forward them early n the session to eonie member of either House, -elthem hear the true Democratie doctrine 'rom every county. flj We have received the first number of the 'American Citizen' a new paper just commenced in Detroit. It advocates the "Naive doctrines. YVe do not learn from its face who edits or publishes it. The late erop of potatoes in Ireland is bund to exceed the produce of any year on record. The abundant growth of this vegetable has surpassed all expectations; and the poor man's harvest which is now mt opening, exhibits in the smallest garens an amazing quantity of this inestimable root. The size of the potatoe is vhat Dominie Sampson would term "proigious," many weighing from three to bur pounds each. Ann Arbor, Dec. 27, 1844. The Wheat market remains without material alteration.
