Mrs. Evelyn M. Kearns, 55, wife of Richard W. Kearns, of 1311 Franklin Blvd., died Tuesday evening at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after a short illness.

She was born March 5, 1910, in Grayling, a daughter of David and Mabel Howse Lovely. She was married to Mrs. Kearns on June 18, 1930, in Ann Arbor. The couple has lived here since.

She was a past president of the Women’s Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Graf O’Hara Post No. 423, and a member of the Women’s Benefit Association.

She is survived by her husband; three sisters, Mrs. Harley Kennedy of Ann Arbor, Mrs. Ernest Larson of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Thomas Brown of Grayling, and two brothers, Dennis Lovely of Ann Arbor and Earl Lovely of Grand Rapids.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday.
