MANCHESTER – Fred E. Stafard, 79, resident of Manchester township all his life, died at Tecumseh hospital last night.
Born July 18, 1866, he was the son of Franklin and S. Maria Carpenter Stafard. On Oct. 7, 1891, he was married to Mary C. Sullivan who preceded him in death on April 11, 1927. Mr. Safard was a member of Manchester Lodge, F & A M, No. 148, and Meridian chapter RAM, No. 48.
He is survived by a son, Frank of Manchester; two daughters, Miss Ethel Stafard of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Katherine Searl of East Lansing; and two grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed, but burial will be in Oak rove cemetery. Rev. John Bunney will officiate at the funeral, and graveside services will be held by Manchester Lodge, No. 148. Friends may call at the Jenter funeral home.
