Court Case Continues On Control Of Gelman

The case of the Gelman Instrument Co. versus Charles Gelman was taken up again today before Circuit Court Judge William F. Ager Jr.

In dispute is control of the company.

On Monday Gelman announced the firing of President Marshall Papier and Executive Vice President Melvin Schneider. Yesterday, the two executives filed a suit asking for injunctive relief. They charged that Gelman has wrongfully interfered with the day-to-day operation of the business.

Attorneys for the two sides met in a room across the hall for approximately

10 minutes yesterday before going into court.

At 3:50 p.m. they went before Judge Ager and were immediately called into his chambers. The case had been assigned to Judge Ross Campbell but since he had been sick and Papier and Schneider had requested an emergency hearing Judge Ager took the case. At 5:30 p.m. the attorneys returned from the judge's chambers and talked to their clients for some time.

The judge told all the parties involved not to make any statements to the press until a decision was reached.
