A new restaurant - the Mayflower Coffee shop - is scheduled open about June 1 at 122 E. Liberty St. at S. Fourth Ave.
It will occupy the site of the former Spudnut Shoppe, sold recently by William Krause to Frank Manikas.
Manikas, who has operated the Mayflower restaurant at 307 S. Main St. since 1933, said the coffee shop will feature breakfasts, light luncheons and fountain service. It will not include full meals. Manikas will continue to run the Main St. restaurant.
The Liberty St. structure is now being remodeled. When completed, it will be decorated in Colonial patterns. It will be air conditioned.
