Leona (Dewey) Upshaw, born January 5, 1922 in Wheeling, MO to Corda Wilson Dewey and Virgil William Dewey, passed away on June 4, 1993 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Upshaw; one brother, two sisters; and one son Jimmy Lee Smashey. She is dearly loved and will be missed by her children, Doris Jean (Smashey) Benzinger, Donald Philip Smashey, Joyce Ann Smashey (James) Raeburn, Larry Wayne (Cathy) Smashey, and Patrick Charles (Irene) Webster; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grand children; and other relatives and friends she included as part of her family. Her body is at rest and her spirit continues in our hearts. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 8, 1993, 2:30 p.m. at the MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL with the Rev. Ronald Boldman officiating. Burial will follow at Washtenong Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the MUEHLIG CHAPEL, Sunday 1-4 and 7-9 p.m., and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
