Fund-raiser aims for Aug. 24

The Washtenaw County chapter of Pheasants Forever is sponsoring a Fun Shoot and mini-fund-raiser Aug. 24 at Washtenaw Sportsman’s Club, 5095 Ellis Road.

The entry fee of $20 per shooter includes one round of trap and one round of skeet. Shells are available for purchase at the range.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three shooters in each of the events and for the best overall combined score.

Sponsors encourage women and young people to register and compete. Youths should be at least 12 years old or have previous shooting experience. Shooters must wear eye protection and ear protection is recommended.

Shooting begins at 10 a.m. and will be by reservation only. The deadline for making reservations is Aug. 15.

Any spaces that remain may be filled the day of the shoot.

For more information and reservations contact chapter president Steve Schneider, 429-2334 evenings. Groups of five people can register for the same time slot.

Refreshments will be provided.
