Goblins In The Library
Ack! They're back! There are little tiny stashes of stolen treasure and tricky riddles appearing in the libraries--the Goblins have a game for you to play!
For this game, go to the Youth Area of the Downtown Library and find a box of Goblin Treasure! The gold is claimed, so don't disturb it, but there's some treasure in it for you, too! Just solve the riddles, unscramble the letters, and DON'T FORGET to shine the handy-dandy Secret-Spotting Light inside the box to find any hidden letters (and points)! Get all FOUR codes to earn this badge!

I love the Goblin game! I'm glad they're back! It was more complex and interesting to solve than last year's version, too. Thanks!

A tip when shining the light…
A tip when shining the light into the box, cover the top of the box to block the cieling light overhead. You'll be able to see the glowing invisible ink better that way!
I used a hat to cover the box, but I would think a book would work too.
I think my child wrote down…
I think my child wrote down the wrong code from inside the box because we keep trying to put in what he wrote and it's not working!
cbrewster - the code begins…
cbrewster - the code begins with S and ends with E. Nine letters.
It can be hard to see the entire code. Other players suggest covering the box - have your child try that!
If you email the game makers…
If you email the game makers, they will tell you the code. No need to go back and try again.
Is it possible to solve the…
Is it possible to solve the riddles for the game codes without going to the treasure box? And if so, what does one do with the riddle solution? I tried entering the word that I think is the solution as a game code, and it wasn't accepted.
Visiting the Goblin Game…
Visiting the Goblin Game boxes and searching nearby is the only way to complete them all - besides they are so COOL to explore! Thanks for playing! - erin GM

Any hints about how many letters we're supposed to find? I feel like I'm missing vowels, but I'm also terrible and word scrambles...
Any Hints for the first game…
Any Hints for the first game code?
12 letters for the first…
12 letters for the first code. Got all the letters. Any clue as to how many words are in the code? Are any of the words funny spellings? Are they about treasure or goblins? We are having a hard time figuring the first code out.
For the first code I only…
For the first code I only found 3 Jacks, one with 2 letters on it. Did those letters count separately or did I miss a card?
And for the last code did I miss reading something that wasn't given here as the hint? I can't think of anything besides [b.....]

If you submit a contact us email we're happy to share the missing gamecode with you https://aadl.org/contactus - Thanks for playing - erin
We accidentally wrote down…
We accidentally wrote down just the answer to the "take from a friend" riddle you solve for, and not the part of the code already down in the side of the goblin box. Can anyone tell me the word from the side?
Loved solving the riddles.
