Bazaar Work Keeps 'Em Busy
The fact that sleigh bells and holly are weeks away hasn't stopped area women from planning traditional bazaars and holiday sales. In the picture at the left, members of Westminster Presbyterian Church select apples and cider for the annual church bazaar. A tub of polished apples, "handpicked" by. from the left, Mrs. Bruce Welch, Mrs. William Dowling and Mrs. Rankin Swan, will be featured at the country store. In addition, items ranging from baked goods to antiques to books to novelties will be available. In the picture above, Elizabeth, left, and Rose Marie Cohen put the finishing touches on a group of especially handsome handmade ties which will be sold at the Beth Israel Sisterhood bazaar. Foods, baked goods, handcrafted jewelry, pottery, Chanukah decorations and other items also will be featured, as well as a booth of white elephant "treasures."
