She is soft, with half of her face buried underneath the blankets.  I let my eyes drag up and down, trying to imprint this image of home.

She shifts, slowly opening her eyes, an earthy brown colliding with dark chocolate.  "I love you," she whispers into the air between us, the words feeling like a gentle caress on my cheek.  I soften under her gaze.

"I love you too," and she brightens like the rays that's blocked by the curtains; my own personal sunshine.   

"Always?" she asks.

"Forever and ever," I reply, and we tumble together like fate wanted us to.
