Carpenter, Dorsie
Carpenter, Dorsie Sublett, Kentucky Formerly of Chelsea Age 61, died Sunday, January 18, 1981 in Highland Regional Hospital in Prestonburg, Kentucky following an extended illness. He was born March 6, 1919, in Magoffin County, Kentucky, the son of Wise and Nellie Minix Carpenter. He was married to Edna Mae Salyer on July 19, 1939; she survives. Mr. Carpenter was a WWII Army Veteran. In addition to his wife he is survived by six sons, Ernest of Battle Creek, Gordon of Mt. Clemens, D.J. of Chelsea, Larry of Clarksville, Tennessee, Phillip of Ann Arbor, and Jackie of Ypsilanti; two daughters, Mrs. Joan Nuttle and Mrs. Rhonda Onderdonk both of Ann Arbor; 16 grandchildren; one brother, Douglas of Manchester; three sisters, Mrs. Nora Ray of Tecumseh, Mrs. Irene Perkins and Mrs. Maxine Tyshka both of Jackson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 22, 1981 at 1:30 p.m. at the Jenter Funeral Home, Manchester with the Rev. Robert Macfarlane officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m.Tuesday. -Jenter, Manchester
