YPSILANTI - Herbert S. Allen, 75, of 202 S. Adams St., a retired farmer, died Saturday afternoon at Beyer Memorial hospital. He had been ill several months.

Mr. Allen was born Oct. 25, 1870, in Ypsilanti township, a son of Lemuel and Frances Woodward Allen. He was married Jan. 8, 1897, to Miss Lizzie M. Potter in Ypsilanti. He was a life member of the Masonic lodge, No. 13, of Ypsilanti, and a member of the Friends church.

Surviving besides the widow are a son, Frank, of Ypsilanti; a brother, Will, of Ypsilanti township; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Sturton and Mrs. Rhoda Burrell, both of Ypsilanti, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the J. E. Moore funeral home. Rev. Charles J. Carey will officiate. Burial will be in Highland cemetery.
