Ulysses G. Darling

Ulysses G. Darling, 80 years old, died last night at his home, 3181 Packard Rd., after an illness of several weeks.
Born Dec. 31, 1863, in Bethel, N. Y., the son of Walter and Eliza Darling, he had resided in Pittsfield township for the past 51 years. Darlington subdivision was named for his family. He served for several years as a member of the Platt school board.
On June 6, 1886, he was married to Jessie Hardie, who died Aug. 11, 1919. He married Mrs. Edna Blackett Walther, of Detroit, on Aug. 25, 1927.
Other than his widow, he is survived by four sons, Walter, Wellington, and Lester, all of Ann Arbor, and Theodore, Howell; three daughters, Mrs. Mertie Alexander, Plymouth; Mrs. Anne Bailey, Ann Arbor and Mrs. Jessie Weinhardt, Darlington.
Also surviving are two stepsons, William and Lewis Walther; 13 grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. John W. Miller, of Swan Lake, N. Y.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 in the Muehlig Chapel with Rev. Ralph Dunlop officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery, and friends may call at the chapel.
