Joseph Rothaupt, 83, of 306 N. Ashley St., a former employe of the Artificial Ice Co., died Thursday afternoon in a local hospital after an illness of several weeks.
He was born in Germany on Feb. 8, 1871, and had been an Ann Arbor resident for the past 40 years. He was employed by the ice company before he retired 15 years ago.
Surviving are two nephews, Lucius Smith and Ralph Hall, both of Howell.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brighton. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery there. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel.
