Boys could be boys, but girls had to be women.

Ladies were to carry their name with elegance and clever calculation, careful not to tarnish the already scorned reputation that laid on their bare backs. Accidentally expose the raw vulnerability underneath their fine leather skin and they'd become a mouse for a cat’s evil eye. Hold a firm grip on the beliefs that they abide by and they'd turn into an entitled she-tyrant. It was a constant blurry line between the two, and amidst it all, they were expected to be Goldilocks and the youngest bear.

But boys could just be boys.
