Patrolman Earns Federal Study Grant

Ann Arbor patrolman Mark Stolorow has been selected as one of two law enforcement officers in the country to receive a federal grant for master degree study in forensic chemistry.

Stolorow will begin a one-year leave of absence on Aug. 1 to study at the University of Pittsburgh. Forensic chemistry is concerned with analyzing physical evidence which can be brought into the courtroom during criminal cases.

A two-year veteran of the Ann Arbor Police Department, Stolorow graduated from U-M with a B.S. degree in chemistry. He has done some graduate work at Eastern Michigan University in business administration.
