Heat Tunnel Gouged Out: Workmen shore up sides of new University heating tunnel along the west side of Thompson between Williams and Jefferson which will deliver heat to the U-M's new $2,524,700 Administrative Offices Building now under construction. The tunnel will connect with another to the U-M's new Institute for Social Research Building at upper left. The tunnel will run along Thompson to just south of Jefferson where it will cross to the new building. Construction is expected to be completed in about five weeks, U-M officials say. The University has many construction projects in progress.
