College Heights Trial Delayed: The area outlined in this photograph is College Heights Subdivision No. 1 in western Ypsilanti township. Start of a $250,000 court trail to force Ypsilanti to extend city utilities to the area was delayed today as attorneys sought to reach last-minute agreement. The circuit court suit was brought by developers, who plan to build some 140 homes in vacant areas of the partly developed subdivision. It is bounded on the south (bottom, above) by Washtenaw Rd., the city-township boundary. Plantiffs in the case maintain the city is bound under a 1853 contract to provide water and sewer to the area.

West Side Development: Stretching into Ypsilanti township beyond the city of Ypsilanti's west limits is the new extension to Collegewood Dr. (above) which is bordered on both sides by completed homes and homes under construction. Above Cornell Rd. (running from left to right at upper center) are 12 homes built on Collegewood by the United Homes, Inc., which was followed by a lull in building. Recently the NuSharona Home Builders Inc., of Detroit took over the entire College Heights subdivision and have taken out 27 building permits on Collegewood (note completed basements and model home).
