HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Twelve-year-old Lena Lou Sturgill, a Girl Scout of Troop Seven at the Rackham School of Special Education in Ypsilanti, receives a piece of the Girl Scout national birthday cake from United Air Lines stewardess, Florence McCabe. The piece of cake, flown from Los Angeles yesterday, was presented to the troop in honor of its help during the past year to hunger-stricken children of Europe. Lena, who suffered an attack of infantile paralysis several years ago and her fellow troop members, all physically handicapped, were taken on a tour of the Mainliner by Capt. W. L. Fagen, nearest the door, and First Officer Price Downey.

Easter Seal dollars also help in the rehabilitation of young and old patients in other hospitals in the county, at Rackham School at Ypsilanti and in various homes. The two here are Larry Ehinger, 8, of Adrian, who was flown here from Africa after suffering an attack of polio, and Marilyn Lovejoy, 11, of Hillsdale.
