AWAIT ACTION--Here are a few of the boys who will fight for glory in the Golden Gloves starting tonight at the Armory. [The following description does not correspond with the photo above, which was cropped into four separate photos for the spread in the issue.] Upper left is Art Downing, Michigan student, who is seeking the open middleweight title. Lower left is Ray Mason, Ann Arbor open featherwieght. Jack Smith, upper center, is a hard slugging novice welterweight from Plymouth. Below his is Ray Arnold, open middleweight. John Kowalon, lower center, will swing punches in the novice heavyweight class. Upper right shows Miles Underhill, clouting welterweight from Northville, who last year was judged the outstanding novice. He's in the open this year. Adlphus Fields, lower right, will compete as a novice middleweight.

GETTING IN SHAPE FOR TOURNAMENT--Here are two members of the Co. K Boxing club who will be seeking titles in the Golden Glove boxing tournament to start Wednesday at the Armory. At the right is Charles Hasman, a member of the National Guard, who is one of the few Ann Arbor fighters. Hasman will compete in the open welterweight division, which appears to be the class of the tournament. He is shown above sparring at the Armory with Adolph Field, another member of the Co. K club who is entered int he novice welterweight division.
