Glass Station Opens. Don Seaton, manager of the Owens-Illinois "Glass Bottle Recycling Station" located in the Ann Arbor Construction Company lot at 221 Felch Street, helps Mrs. Irven Arnold of 206 W. Summit unload a trunk full of glass at the station this morning. Mrs. Arnold brought the glass to the center for her church, which plans to use the money collected form the sale to send CARE packages overseas. The glass station, which finally opened this morning, pays one-half cent a pound for clean, color-sorted glass, and will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

REQUIRES CONCENTRATION: A job as technical as this machinery would indicate appears to be requiring a lot of concentration by these two boys. The pair--Johnny Malott (left) and Donnie Spragg--are shown as they "supervised" operations yesterday at the Ann Arbor Construction C. parking lot at 221 Felch St. The equipment at the left, razing of which was begun yesterday, was used in the making of "heavy" concrete in the construction of a University atom research building.

CENTER OF OPERATIONS: This tower is the center of operations in a transit mix concrete plant. The crane is depositing stone which, along with sand, constitutes the "aggregates." In this tower, stone, sand, water and cement are mixed by weight (volume in the case of water) and deposited into the waiting truck seen underneath the tower. The blended ingredients are mixed en route to the job.
