Happy Dedication! Geddes Avenue, in the middle of a heavy snowfall, may seem a strange place for a birthday party. Even one marking Mayor Albert H. Wheeler's 60th birthday. The impromptu party actually was a surprise to Wheeler, who braved the weather to dedicate the first phase of construction of a safety pathway along Geddes. The sidewalk has been named in honor of the mayor's longtime friends, Dr. Reuben Kahn and his late wife Dina. During the dedication, Councilman James Kenworthy, (left), presented Wheeler with a birthday cake commemorating the mayor's 60th birthday.

In excellent health, Mrs. Frances Weber, 5304 Miller Rd., observed her 90th birthday yesterday. Born in Ontario, Canada, she has been a resident of Washtenaw county for the past 67 years.
