Here, he exercises what he teaches with Paul Johnson, 13, and Beth Huff, 15, both of Ann Arbor, and Sara Peapples, 9, of Dexter. All three of these youngsters beat out the competition in regional events and went on recently to compete in the national Junior Olympics at Longview, Wash.

Pioneer Show Includes Rugs The Pioneer Youth Show, featuring art work by 200 Pioneer High School students is under way at the Ann Arbor Public Library. Juliet Aprill (left) and Paul Johnson examine a rug before hanging it for the show. This will be the first time students have shown rugs they have designed according to Cecil North, art teacher. The exhibit also includes paintings, linoleum prints, ceramics and rings. The show will continue through Jan. 4.
