They are (left to right) Marcella Cisney, artistic director of the University Professional Theater Program; Gail W. Rector, president of the University Musical Society; and Robert C. Robert C. Schnitzer, from left, executive director of the Professional Theatre Program sponsoring the Association of Producing Artists' production of "War and Peace," and Marcella Cisney, associate director, greet T. Edward Hambleton, producer of the Phoenix Theatre in New York, where three plays created in the local fall festival will appear this winter. Mr. Hambleton was guest of honor at the president's reception following the play. The affiliation between the U-M Professional Theatre Program and the Phoenix Theatre marks the first time in American theatre that a university has created seven plays for its own region and then sent them to the New York dramatic scene.
