"Today's launching of the Apollo 11 for its historic flight to the moon stirred special interest at Bendix Aerospace Systems Division this morning where staff members paused to watch television as the countdown neared the scheduled liftoff time. The division has developed scientific instrument packages which will be left on the lunar surface by the astronauts. Twenty-two members of the division's staff are at Cape Kennedy or Houston following the flight's progress."
