Three representatives from Brownie Troop 505 of Pittsfield School (from left) Lisa Loepke, Julie Loepke and Carrie Stevens, look on as Miss Sue McPherson of the Michigan Kidney Foundation demonstrates the operation of the a kidney machine. The Brownies were presented a citation by Miss McPherson, honoring them for their contribution of 10,000 box-top coupons to help purchase a life-saving kidney machine. Mrs. David Starks of 3 Galoway Ct. is leader of the troop.

"Putting together colorful wool-covered, wooden hangers from 'Project Hanger' at the Michigan Kidney Foundation are (from left) Mrs. Marry Pappos of Ypsilanti and Mrs. Jean Les Strang, project chairman, of Londonderry Road. Goal of the the project is to earn enough money from the sale of the hangers to purchase an artificial kidney machine. Volunteers who would like to knit small 10 x 2 inch strips (to be used to cover the clothes hangers) can contact Mrs. Les Strang at the Foundation or picks up donated materials and direction from 8:30 am to 5 pm. Mondays and Wednesdays to the Foundation, 3378 Washtenaw."
