Weir's 'Dependables': When Michigan Ticket Manager Don Weir (center) needs gate-keeping help -- for 15 minutes or 15 hours -- in any sport, he's almost certain to turn to Ann Arbor's Raaf brothers, 79-year-old John (right) and 77-year-old William. Neither needs special instruction for they're in the 51st straight year of "taking tickets" for U-M athletic events. As Weir says, "they ask 'which gate' and 'what time' and my worries are over. They'll be there, they'll do a perfect job, and then they'll be ready for my next call for help." The Raafs received special awards and an introduction to those they'd just admitted to Yost Fieldhouse in a special ceremony during the AAU track meet.
